Need advice on bravo 1 shifting

A friend of mine has a 2000 Baja OL 25 ft. We went out last Sat. his outdrive would not shift into forward it would go into reverse but not forward, could it be the shift cable? BTW it is a Bravo one drive!!

was having trouble with mine just made an adjustment. This took care of the problem

One of mine was acting up last year and then wouldn't go into forward at all and reverse was tough this year.
I originally thought it was the lower shift cable since I could see a spot where the outer shell had rubbed pretty bad. It ended up being the shift lingage assembly and detent ball in the drive was worn out. About $150 in parts and an hour labor.

Its probably the lower shift cable or the shift linkage/detent.
