If the motor is out, its easier to remove the the gimbel, gimbel housing and bell housing as a unit and refurbish it on a bench (bushings, seals, bellows etc) then reinstall it as a unit. Just finished mine. Good luck.........Casey

starting it today, are you talking abought the bushings in the bell and what seals, I do not see them in the kit?
|
Mine is an old bravo 1 (1993) the bushings for the bell housing are in the gimbel ring as well as the lower pivot bushing. the upper pivot bushing is pressed into the gimbel housing. This bushing also has a seal. If you pull the transom assembly off you can inspect the mounting studs and bolts. Two of mine were corroded and actually broke apart. Also a source for water leakage. The exhaust block off plate was corroded enough to cause leakage. There is a large seal that fits between the gimbel housing and the outer transom. Also a good time to inspect the gimbel bearing and seal.
