Shifting issues with a ALpha One

ok, you guys pointed me right on this but still a tad confused.

It was my fault that the idle was high and then it was hard to get it out of gear.

Now the idle is at 700 RPM and it is east to put in gear and easy yo tpullout ..sometimes and other it seems to lag ...

can you guys help me out again ?

Steve

make sure shift interupter is working properly and that the transom shift cable is moving freely in and out of gear.

Will a old 1986 232ft boat have a shift interrupter in it??

It never started to give me troube till I turned the Idle up on it.

shift cable...prolly time for a new one... once they start getting old/sticky you got problems, stalling while docking etc... because it throws off the shift interuptor, yes you have one.
