Bravo lower question?
 

I have a Bravo 1 Performance low water pick up.
Port motor prop spins free by hand both ways starboard seems to have tight spots. You can turn it by hand but it hits a few hard spots that almost stop you from turning.

Drained oil today both drives and they were clean. Magnets were clean.
My props spin inward and it only seems tight turn clockwise.
Boat has no signs of any problems.

Any suggestions?

If that drive has tight spots, you have bad things happening inside. Exactly what woud be a guess. At the very least, you need to take apart the lower for inspection. The unusual thing is that there is no metal in the oil or the magnet.:confused:

Make sure drive cable adjusted properly might be feeling clutch trying to grab a little,also if thrust washer worn prop could be rubbing case,but doesn't explain only one direction.If gear lube looks good usually everthing inside is ok

I was thinking the same thing on the prop. same issue with the prop off.

Need to check the adjustment and see if the prop spins in neutral.

If it is only doing it in one direction it is an issue with the shift mechanism. Might just be an adjustment but it could also be a bad shift cable that has allowed water to intrude into the shift. Either way you have to pull the drive to check it, Bravo shift cables are set up with the drive off, while you have it off have a look at the shift link, thats the piece that the shift cable ends snaps into. If it is corroded you should replace the drive end shift cable and remove the back cap form the drive and clean up or replace any corroded parts. It;s not really that big of a job and only a few fairly inexpensive specialty tools are required. If it is a water intrusion issue it will only get worse so you may as well check it out sooner then later.
