1.5 to 1.36 ratio change?
I broke my bravo this weekend, and I can get my hands on a full Imco for a good price. The problem is its a 1.36 ratio. If I switch from a 1.5 to 1.36 will I be able to re-prop it to maintain my current performance? How much pitch will I have to drop? I have a single engine 29' scarab with 650hp, 26p bravo one. Wot is 70mph@5300rpm, cruise is 40-42@3500. Thanks

You'll probably need to drop to 22 or labbed 24. Might loose some acceleration and top end, might not.

I might have to pass on the drive, 29' scarabs are hard enough to get moving , Don't wanna lose the little performance I've gotten:eek:

A guy that I boat with a lot has a little less HP than me and gets pretty good performance with the Mercury Rev-4 on the same boat. Maybe if I switch to the smaller Diameter Rev-4 I could keep the pitch. ButI guess the smaller diameter would have the same effect on performance. Maybe I'll have to do some testing.

Scott I think a 1:36 is better then 1:50 on your aplication. |
How much are you going to save once you buy a number of props to get the boat to perform like it was doing?

Turbo,
Thats a goos point, it would probably cost me more in the long run. Scott |
fast 22, I'm looking for a 1;36 bravo with LWP. Let me know if it's available.

Ao I'm not sure if it has a low water pickup, I'm going on the lake with the guy this weekend so I can find out for you. I know it was sent to Imco for the full Imco treatment with a nosecone, and has maybe 10hrs since the build. It was taken off when he went with more power and B-Maxes. If your inerested I can get a price this weekend.

Have a good weekend and let me know.
