Bravo 3 on 502 formula

I just bought a used 95 Formula 271 and it has a b3 twin prop
drive which I thought was odd for this boat.
Boat is being shipped and I haven't used it yet so don't know how it is going to work.

Don't know what ratio it is, or if it's a b3 or b3x, but the stuff on mercury's w/site lists ratios quite different than Bravo 1's
that are normally on these boats.

These boats are known to be slow to get on plane, maybe the
twin prop would help.

Is this drive a good match for this boat???

Formula 271

We had a 271, year 97 with B3 ratio 1.81 and 26P props.

Formula choose this combination.

I Have The Bravo 3 Twin Prop Drive's On My 38 Fountain Express Cruiser And They Work Great .
They Manuver The Boat When Docking Like A Dream . I Thought With This Size Boat I Would Need A Bow Thruster But With These Drive's I Turn The Front Or The Back Of The Boat With No Problem .
I Would Just Say No Hole Shot's From A Stand Still .
Good Luck
Mike

b3

My first formula fastech was a similar set-up. Great rig for water skiing and tubing. Our record was 7 adults spread across 5 obrien tubes, one driver and one observer. It took an hour to get everyone situated, ropes set and in position-but what a fun pull!! You will enjoy how well the boat manuevers around the docks.
