Bravo question

I have a newer swept back Bravo 1 and will be needing a gear change in the future and was wondering if and when doing the gear change in the upper if the Bravo X gears will work in the standard Bravo 1 upper. Or would I be better off to just find a Bravo X upper complete, thanks Steve

As I recall, the only difference between
a regular bravo (s/n OM and up) and an X is that the X
has a steel bearing tower in the case, the gears are the same.

anyone else? Gadgets? can anyone confirm? Looking at putting around 470hp 550ft. tq. in front of it in a 2700lb boat not really wanting to go with an xr upper. Any thoughts? Will it live?

Check out the thread....(.are bravos enough) . Steel cap is a good add.

You should be fine.

Steve,
The gears in the upper are the same for the B1 and B1 X. Only difference is the steel tower in the upper case, and the ribbed top cap that also has a steel tower in it.
With the power level and size of the boat, you will be just fine if driven with respect. Make sure it is setup properly and it should live a long life!!
Hope this helps.
Dick
