Yeah, at least a dozen guys I know of that are running teague 8 & 900's. The guys are real happy with it. LaveyCraft has been selling the 800 engine with this drive for years. Rock solid combo.

Teague warrantys the drive for a year for the ilmor 710 & teague-800 and 900.

That some sweet throttle body set up you have there....

List....

Heres what teague says they provide.
My unit came with an imco lower on it as is standard from teague.

• Torsional Vertical Shaft (TVS) - The secret to our drive success. Relieves torque loads to the forward drive gear and bearings during hard acceleration and/or hard re-entries.
• TCM heavy duty Platinum 1 1⁄4” propshaft made from heat-treated stainless steel, designed for maximum strength and optimum performance.
• Larger U-joint assembly than standard Bravo I, to handle increased horsepower and torque.
• TCM Platinum gears NEW!!!
• Billet top cap designed to hold precise tolerances, increase strength, and prevent deflection in upper case.
• Platinum XR gear housing includes SS tower for added strength.
• Net forged bevel straight cut tooth gears have redesigned upper gear socket floor for
enhanced strength and durability.
• TCM Billet Bearing Carrier to support propshaft.
• Low & Dual Water Pickup gear cases designed to enhance reliability for step-hull designed boats with elevated engine installations and/or when operating the drive at higher trim angles. This design improves the flow of cooling water to the engine and prevents
aeration
• Lower cases available in standard, 1” and 2” lengths.

Here's the mod list from Teagues site directly.

love your Na/Injected line of engines- very impressive what you are getting na.

HOW MUCH $$$$$$$$$ ?

I would be interested in two with 1.5 gear ratio and inch inch shortie lower.

Thanks Uncle Dave Ron Potter did a nice job with that motor. So you think the Teague XR is that much stronger than the Merc XR ?? :grinser010:

TWINBLOWN 02-03-2009 02:05 PM

my boat has a boostpower 1200 sci engine in it. Alexi told me the TCM drive that came with my boat will be fine as he states most XR family drives are similar. I thought that was cool as he had 10 drives sitting their he could have sold me. Anyway--should be ok if the driver is ok?!?!

Good question....

Im not exactly sure how it spriced a-la carte......

Mine came with the Ilmor 710 upgrade package from LaveyCraft. I also put in an ITS to keep the transom clean.

Teague has the drive supply contract with Ilmor. (until Ilmor does their own drive)

The whole thing was a ridiculously expensive "upgrade" and I really couldn't say whats parts cost what- but just get on the phone and call Bob Teague himself I'm sure he'd LOVE to sell you a pair.

To answer Superbabis questions YES-

I think it is quite a bit stronger than a stock XR and uses better parts that go through a different heat treating process and are hand selected. There are lots of these drives out here in the West pushing ridiculously fast cats and tunnels. Teague wouldn't offer such a long warranty on it otherwise- BUT ultimately all drives lifespan depend one the driver.

Thanks Uncle Dave, Just trying to weight my options for the 2009 season, I would like to pick up a spare drive, and the Teague does seem like it can handle 800 plus, I think I saw the price @ 11k ??? By the way your boat is Awesome looking !!!

Thanks-! I documented the whole build in the Laveycraft website under out of the mold I'm blown away. Ive got more dough in electronics and LED lighting than my first boat cost!

I've never bought a drive a-la-carte but only as a package- where does 11K sit compared to a stock xr?
