bravo 1 lube bottle

Hi,

I'm new here and new to the Bravo One. I noticed that I have no lube bottle in my engine room. I have a 1988 boat with a newer Bravo One. The transome assembly is original and the drive might be three yaers old (give or take).

Is it bad to not have this bottle? How do I add one if I want it

Thanks.

The drive probably has the provision but the old transom/gimble housing doesn't. Maybe you could drill it???? Make sure it's full with the drive DOWN.

They started putting the external lube bottle on 1990 and later.
Your current outdrive must have the external lube plugged or it would leak mated to an 88 bell housing.

I have never thought about adding one, it would be challange.

Good luck.

You would need to change the transom assembly.

So... it seems to be ok to not have it as long as I keep an eye on the fluid?

Yes you will be fine. Look how many years the Alpha and pre-Alpha's ran without one.
