Bravo 3 gimbal replacement

How do you remove and replace the gimbal bearing?

i beleive it is the same as a bravo1.your merc parts dealer can tell you what bearing to use.you first remove the drive,i use a slide hammer puller to remove the bearing, when i insert the new bearing,i use a marker and mark the hole in the housing and the slot in the bearing, they must line up or the grease cannot get to the bearing.after you put the drive back on,don,t forget to grease it.:ernaehrung004:

i use a 3 jaw puller that i got from pepboys,to drive the new one in i use a peice of heavywall pipe that is just a little smaller than the od of the bearing,i also put a small amount of antiseize in the bore bofore i push it in,make sure the bearing is straight, and it will go in fairly easy, also be sure it bottoms out in the bore.
