TRS Outdrive Shower's
One of the boats I am working on right now has TRS drives on it and the upper gear-case's are getting chalky every usage. I found this drive shower here:
http://www.cpperformance.com/detail.aspx?ID=527 Although the title describes it as being for TRS drives, the description states it is designed for a Bravo Upper. Does anyone on here have drive showers in stock for TRS drives, or know where I can find them? Nick |
Looks like it should bolt onto the lifting eye on the top of the TRS case. Call CP and ask them, they are usually very helpful.

TRS drives have an oil pump that circulates the lube very well. Since the lower gear case is constantly submerged, they really don't have a need for a drive shower.

To be on the safe side I run showers on everything I have. I had TRS drives on my 30' Scarab and they do heat up and get chalky like you described. I might have a pair of showers still lying on the shelf. I'll check, I think their the Simrex style rigid tube. Check with me near the end of the week if you can. I'm not at home till Friday.

if it has th merc trans u can use the water that goes through the cooling tube in the trans and use a water dump out the transom and face it at the top of the drive. that how i run it on my 20 ft cigarette and it works great with plenty of water volume . they also recommend dumping water overboard for better cooling in those transmissions.
