1991 Bravo One clutch replacement?

Can you buy just the clutch or will I have to get the whole geer set? I was told today my clutch will need to be replaced soon and I will need the whole geer set rather than just a clutch.

Thanks

You can only buy it new as part of entire gear set.

Nomo,
the 91 has the thin floored gears, those parts are no longer available from Merc. They have an upgrade kit with new gears and cone clutch and all the parts in the upper to replace what you have. That is the reason for the answer from your mechanic.
If you can find a good used cone and the gears are not damaged where the cone seats.. that will get you by..

Hope this helps

I think I have the hole upper gear set for a 1993 Bravo 1. If that will work I'll dig it out. I may have a upper set also with a chipped tooth in the gear but a good clutch.
