What gear ratio do i have?
 
Hey all i have a 1988 scarab with bravo 1 drives, I blew the upper gears out on the port side drive and i am wondering what gear ratio it is and how can you tell what it is? Thanks for any help!

I would guess a 1.50 ratio. If the drives are close to originals like my old 1990 i had, it would be 1.5. Right down the serial number off the upper unit and take to a local merc shop. they should be able to tell u. Mine had 454 mags and spun 25 ptch mirages and run about 68. Hopefully this helps

The decal on the l/h side of the upper usually
has the ratio stamped on it.

Otherwise, you have to know the tooth count of the upper
gear set.

if it's a 27 tooth pinion and a 32 tooth drivens, it's a 1.5:1
