Bravo 1 HP

How much HP and torque can put to a stock Bravo 1 before it breaks?

i know they came on hp 500 boats and 496 aswell. im pretty sure a larger boat with a pair of 500;s and u could break one.

In a light boat it should handle 650hp no problem, as long as your not beating the hell out of it.. On a decent size boat 550 hp and you should be close to the limit... ALOT of it determines how you drive, some people can and some people say they can..

It all depends on what year the drive is. A 2002 and newer drive has much stronger gears. The OL serial number and lower drives do not handle much HP before the gear floor breaks out. I blew mine with only 450HP. Jeff Wurl

My friend is running NA 800hp thru a stock 97 B1 on a 28' Checkmate and it lives. I went through it once so far since 97.
A lot of it is how you drive it.
