Need help w Blackhawk
Just got some bad news that my shop found metal in oil of my Blackhawk when doing repair of shifting problem. Looking at options of repair or convert. If repair, what are risks or concerns? Are Bravo parts interchangeable with Blackhawk? Should a competent drive shop be able to do the repair?
If convert, what to? The boat is 21 foot ski-racer built by Martie Wells (Catalina fame) powered by prochrged intercooled 383 small block and runs 90 plus w 31" props, and 85-88 with 29". Really don't want to lose performance so any Bravo conversion would have to have a shorter lower and torpedo style--Speedmaster or Imco. Thanks for your feedback. Jim |

Except for the vertical shaft all the other parts are standard BIII, if you do rebuild it get teh HD gear set for the upper. I ran that drive and loved it no way can you beat the handling.

boat tech: The boats in Nor Cal in Discovery Bay in pleasure use. I keep to river, lakes and Delta use. Boat is a lot of fun, and fast. That's why I'm trying to find a shop who can do the repair for sure.
mop: OK on almost all Bravo 3, that's good news. For upper, are you referring to Bravo X, XR, or XZ gear set? Or is it an HD upper for Bravo 3? Thanks |

Phil Lipshultz also owns a bunch of Blackhawks. I was over at TNT's drive shop in Miami and there's a ton of them over there which I was told belong to Phil. I don't have a contact number but if you do a internet search for lipship I'm sure you'll find it.

Thanks, I'm on it. Hope this works.
