Zinc Trim Tab

Has anyone removed the zinc trim tab from their TRS drives? I do not keep the boat in the water and I have the other sacraficial tabs, do I need these? Any benifit to removing them such as reduced drag? just curious...

I use the flat ones without the fin on them on my TRS. To remove them you need a allen wrech (3/8 i think). There is a bolt that holds them in from the topside of the rear cavitation plate(closest to prop)

Mild Thunder,

Did you buy it that way or make it. Thats what I am looking for. Where did you get yours?

Thanks

I was able to purchase flat ones for my TRS at west marine.

I cant seem to find the part number. I dont have a West Marine close so ordering off the net is my best bet, or more likely just cut the ones I have. I have to remove all the paint off the existing anodes also...

Thanks, I saw the one for the alpha in my search, but was unsure If I could use it on the TRS also.
