Arneson #8s

Hey everyone I'm new here and looking at purchasing a 37' 1985 catamaran with twin triple turbo 750hp merlin diesels and Arneson #8 drives. Now the boat needs seats and props, so I was wondering if anyone can tell me approximately how much props would be and a good place to get them.

Thanks, Tyler

Prop prices depents on what you want /need
stainless steel props are expensive ,nibrals are a lot better priced, you could also try to find a set used ones ,oh and see what sort splines you have ,it could be a 19 spline (old style ) or a 25 spline ,the older style splines can fit the propshaft adapter that Arneson has ,this will fit the # 6 SSM props ,and these are much easier to find .
For the 25 spline ,there is no other way to use 25 spline only ,and are more difficult to find used .
You could however buy a set from an older SSM # 3 or 4 ,with the thin propshaft ,and let these broots to a 25 spline at a propellor shop ,or find a company with an EDM wire cutting machine ,and wire cut the splines bigger .

Tyler:

Very curious to know what the boat is that you are buying - I think a friend of mine might have been the builder as Merlins/Arnesons were his signature. Any additional information and photos would be appreciated. You can email me privately at [email protected] anytime.

Also, I have Rolla surface piercing props for the Arneson drives. Let me know and we'll go from there.

Thanks,

Harry

Ian ( Stirling) is that you ??

Well be somewhat careful with second hand Nibral surface props as they tend to wear out an then loose a blade and something....

I have a former boss/friend with Nibrals on his 47 "Behemoth" and I think France Helices gave a certain hour time for the props he uses.
