There is valving in the pump. Also the orings in the cylinder could be leaking. I have never had the cylinders apart, but I did have the pump apart. You would need a manual to follow the flow. If something was is stuck in a check valve or a bypass valve that could cause the problem??

I tried that ,was guessing,ended up a little bur on the up piston,it was tricky to me in the pump valving,but it worked ,I guess ya really need to no the pressures before ajusting them?:drink:

just oredered a new set of SEI cylinders. You can buy the whole assembly, ready to go for about the same price as the rebuild kit from Merc. Don't know if it will work out, but it is worth a try...they have a warranty too.
