Number 3 drives
Are these drives good. How much power can they handle? Please tell me anything good or bad about them.
|
Very good, Proven offshore outdrives. 800 hp.... Maybe more?
|
Great Drives
Parts or hard to come by!! I would go wet sump six best bang for your money right now. |
Can anyone put me onto where to buy TRS parts or a number 3 drive
|
Which drive would be faster the number 3 or a bravo?
|
Somebody........Would you buy a boat with these drives on it or would that not be good? Should these drives be replaced?
|
I am guessing the Bravo boat will be slightly faster. Number Three is a bigger heavier drive, requires a transmission that all suck up HP. Why would anyone take a #3 Drive off a boat unless replacing with a #4 #5 or #6? It is a great drive and can take a lot of power. I would have a #3 boat over a Bravo boat anytime. #4,5,6 are more surfacing style drives and will allow more power and higher X dimensions.

I have a good set of 3A drives complete with gimbal's.
Replacing my boat with 6's If interested call Dennis 248 640 4114 |

Buying a #3 boat wouldn't bother me if the price was right and how many hrs on the drive since a rebuild. |
I think you have 3's and then came the heavier 3a's , basically shorter versions of the early 4's and later 5's . I have owned 3's and now have 4's , have had very good luck with mine .
