Velvet Drive 72C Rebuild Question

I'm going to rebuild my trannies this winter. I've got a manual & it looks pretty straightforward, mostly just stacking a lot of bushings, plates, clutches, o-rings etc from front to back. I'm wondering though if there's any special tools besides things like a feeler gauge to check clearances that are needed or if anyone has any tricks or precautions for someone who has never done one. Also, there are "rebuild kits" containing gaskets, o-rings, seals, clutch packs etc. but they don't include bearings- wouldn't it make sense to plan to replace them too or do they not typically wear out?

I just rebuilt one of my tranny's this summer. clean everything with brake clean, dry thoroughly, no real special tools needed pay close attention to all the c clip locations and try to them in order. the bearings on my tranny,s looked great no need to touch them. when you go to seperate the pistons for the forward and reverse use a blow gun in one of the holes to change the seals. i had never done a tranny before more intimidating than what it really is take your time. good luck
