Hydromotive Nose Cone for TRS
Worth it? The price doesn't seem bad to give it a shot. Anyone have experience with them?

Only if the drive is mounted a little higher than normal...I had a Spectra 24 , installed the nosecone and it steered a little weird, was told the drive was mounted too low for the nose cone to work properly ...

I had an 83 Scarab III with TRS Drives and added Hydromotive Nose Cones and was able to trim the drives a little higher without prop blowout. I don't know if they made a difference in top speed because I did engine upgrades at the same time as the nose cone installation. Mine did 69.8 mph on gps with 23" mirage props at 5450 engine rpm so per popular belief nose cones would not provide any benefit.

used them on our race boat. Boat handled better and gained 2-3 mph. Love them on our old Mirage

Don't know if they work as I added mine before test and tune. They must because of the shape, like a mini bullit. If they don't coolness factor increases because they sure make the drives look better:drink:

The TRS has a good aspect ratio(diameter to length of bullet) and dont usually need a nose cone if speeds are under 90mph. May help if running a high X-dimention? I've also heard that they can slow you down on normal setups??

I remember no measurable results by adding Hydromotive nose cones to our original TRS drives. A poor finish and cracking were also long term issues.

I added one to my 27 excalibur and i picked up 2 and my slip numbers went down
