NXT water pickup issues
My NXT's find the only grass in 10 miles to plug up. The water pickups get clogged with swampgrass ! Merc says there is no issue. The intake plates are installed correctly. I think I will sharpen the edges so it will cut the grass ?? HELP

Do you mean Kelp? Do you have a sea strainer? Uncle Dave |
I have the same problem with my Imco lowers . It is so bad for me that I'm going back to the stock lowers on my xr's and try that.

I'm boating in the lower keys. Kelp is not an issue. Swamp grass is long and stringy. I do have strainers but the issue is plugging at the water intake under the lower case. The grass has to make two sharp turns at the intake plate to get into the drive. It hangs up at those angle points.

"No" swampgrass down there. UD |
I removed the pickup plates. Merc already sharpens them somewhat. The side I was having the issues with had a rolled corner. I got out the trusty dremel tool and put the "edge" on them. I ran the boat a few hrs last week and no grass in the intakes....I think that solved the issue
