Internal line cylinders are high pressure/low volume and have the external reverse lock valve and high pressure/low volume pump. This is early style. External line cylinders are low pressure/high volume and do not use the external reverse lock valve and use a low pressure/high volume pump. They also have larger diameter pistons inside and use larger diameter lines between the pump and transom assembly. This is late style. Mercruiser Manual #5 TR/TRS states they are not interchangeable! If you need this manual you can download it at iboats.com.Just go to the forums and go to the mercruiser section. At the top in there you will see Adults only Sticky.Go in there and go down to Mercury manuals. In there find Manual #5 TR/TRS. It's 59mb's. |
