Alpha trim rams on Bravo?
 

Can anyone tell me if I can use my alpha trim rams on my "new" bravo set up? I'm using a '96 std gimbal if it makes a difference... I've read every post on this subject and could not find an answer.

that a gen 2 alpha no the rams are totaly different the ends where the mounts are are wrong not sure but probably have different internals also try www.sterndrive.cc they have new ones cheap. they run 120 for new ones.

The rams are off of my formula which is an 87, so its a gen 1. They "look" the same as the bravos.

Can anyone tell me what the center to center measurement is on their Bravo cylinders. The alpha is 18 5/8" closed. I think the Bravo is 19 1/4". From what I can see this it the only difference. Extended length is the same at 27 1/4". Is this difference going to matter?

My Bravo is around 19 1/8" at a real quick measurement. I also have Alpha Gen II that are17", but those have a diiferent type of mounting pins.

I don't see the different in extended lenght being an issue, just might not get a full up trailer position. The retracted lenght might be more of an issue, not sure. At full retract, it'll really tuck your drives under, then that could help you get on plain easier, but can lead to bow steer. I think the drive will drop down another 5/8" w/o interferring within itself. Just speculating here.

Good deal. Sounds like I can use what I have. I always have my thumb on the trim button anyway! So a little extra tuck my be nice when I have the boat full of people or full of fuel.
