Omc King Cobra...

my boat was set up with omc king cobra drives. repowering what would be the best way to go using gen IV 454's. what trans & drives should i use? thanks

if you've got the money, change it over to bravo sys. you will need from the transom assy back, and it will bolt up to existing cut out, may have to drill a couple of new hole's and modify the cut out a little, but it will work.

Do you still have the king cobras?
How much HP are you shooting for?

No I dont have them. I bought the boat with no motor and or drives. Im not trying to get to much power just trying to make it a good reliable boat to take the family out. what would you recommend? they told me bravos but ive also heard to go with alpahs?? thanks for the help!

go with bravo's big blocks and alphas were no fun thats why they were only around for 1 year.

Since you have to buy everything anyway, might as well go with Bravo's. There is a marine flea market coming up in Dania March 18-21, you may be able to pick up the stuff used at a good price there, or buy used from someone here.
