I need some Royal Purple for a Bravo XR. Same viscosity? Where can I find some?

Also I have never done it on a bravo 1, on my B3 the fill plug is on the oustide of the casing, with the B1 I assume, you take the prop off? can you fill it through the resevoir, in the bilge?

Do you feel the Royal Purple is better than the Amsoil?

Gear lube needs to be pumped in from the bottom to keep air pockets from forming.

Thanks Griff, I will get messy then.

any advice on the viscosity of the gear lube the previous owner has always ran royal purple, but I didn't ask which viscosity. I can always send him an email, and find out.

I drained it last night, and it looked brand new, so it must work pretty good.

Ragged, I have never personally run Amsoil.. so I can not comment. A lot of people swear by it. I use RP.

Cabin.. Post #2 above applies to all Bravo's. 75w-90 Max Gear Lube.

Take the prop off and the fill screw is in the bottom of the bearing carrier.
