Alpha 1 Interchange Question.

I've got Alpha 1 Gen 1's on my Nova and was wondering this.
If I gut one of my lowers and buy a rebuild kit for a Counter-rotating lower, will it re-fit into my case, or is there a difference? On the parts sites, it lists two different part numbers for the case, but I was wondering if there is an actual difference.

If anyone knows this, please let me know. I have a line on a NOS CR service kit from a local marina for cheap.

I asked the same thing about my Gen 2 and I was told the standard and counter rotation cases are very different. Helps explain the high cost difference. That and the lower demand. I imagine the Gen 1 are no different??

I think the easiest way to go about it would be the SEI cr alpha.

Is this with the gen 1's only? If they are the same, why different pt. #'s? Or is it that it will work?

Kind of what I'm wondering. Last fall when I changed the fluid before storage, I noticed water in one drive. I thought since it has to resealed, this would be a great time to change rotation. It's something I always wanted to do anyway.
I was going to buy a CR SEI unit until I found this great deal on a full service kit (seals, gears, bearings) for Alpha CR. I seriously could save like 400 bucks If I can re-use my case. Plus my cases are painted a different color.
If anyone has done this, or knows, I would love to hear.

The cases are the same but the prop shaft bearing carriers are different. The reason they have different part numbers is that the cases come with prop shaft bearing carriers.

The carrier is much stronger so the shaft does not get pushed out the back, I think a shop by me has a new one in the box.
