velvet drive leaking

posted a few months back about a velvet drive blowing fluid from the vent over 2000 rpm. anyway, i came to find out this was something mercury had different dipstick assy. for. i have the trans torn down now and all internals look real good. was wanting to fix this properly since trans is now apart. anyone know the root cause of this problem so i can know it will be good after rebuilt? nothing looks real bad in this trans, pump is apart and nothing jumps out as being fried. thanks.

Never heard of that. The fluid is coming out the vent on the top or out the dipstick? Are you sure is actually has a vent on top or is it a plug? It needs to be vented. Is the large plastic shield still there or missing?

it has a vent with a jiggle cap, not leaking from dipstick. ive talked with 2 trans shops and both said worn pump body can give this issue, but there is no scoreing in the pump and i don't wanna drop 250.00 ea for pumps if it wont cure it, especially after what IRS got me for today!

check that the oil cooler and oilcooler lines are not blocked. the lines can separate between the membranes and collapse internally. The can also flake apart and clog the cooler.

yeah, i wish it was a cooler problem, i have flushed all lines and cooler and all look great inside and out. looked fine before flushing. i'm really thinking it's a pump problem, just hope to hear from someone who has fixed this problem when doing a rebuild.
