looking for xr's in good conditition
 

i'm looking for a pair of used xr drives with 1:5 ratio that are in great condition, or a steal on some new ones. I'm in Delaware or upper chesapeake Mike (302) 383-9242

I've got one basically new one.
New upper gears, bearings, seals and case (cracked the original at the input shaft overtrimming and replaced not only the housing, but nearly everything inside it too). Pulled the lower apart, inspected, sanded, primed, painted, clearcoated and reassembled. Sitting in the garage as a spare but I recently sold the boat.

I think 2002, but to be honest I don't know. My boat was a 2002 but came with XZ drives. The original owner blew one and installed XR drives but I don't know when (between 2002 and 2006 when I bought the boat). In 2009 I cracked the upper housing by overtrimming (according to sterndrive specialty) but it cracked at idle (could have been much worse). After tearing it down I bought a new housing, new gears, and new bearings and re-assembled. Gutted, sanded, painted, clear-coated the lower and re-assembled.....been sitting in the garage since last year.

I've got a merc drive shipping box and can strap to a pallet for shipping.

I have two xr's for sale that you would possibly be interested in I will pm you some pics this evening. They are 1.5 to 1 and have lwp.
