Has anyone seen one break like this before? If so what was the cause? XR/ITS Thanks for any info.

One tooth snaps off, then it walks over the next two and pushes the opinion out the front.

Another case of XR upper gears snapping teeth off!!

It's in my growing collection of junk XR parts.


It made a hell of a racket when it happened
.....didn't smell too good either.

It only had 47 hours on it...came apart while cruising at 3800 RPM's

A majority of the drive failures that I've seen are in the 4k rpm range (3500-4500)...

40' of Baja boat with twin 575's will cause that. :lolhit:
Also, they never break WFO, always somewhere around 3000+ RPM.
