How noisy are XR's normally?

I have a mild chatter in the top of mine that is not u-joint related best we can tell. When I purchased the boat it had about 50 hours on the drive, noise was there in neutral only but now "80hrs" is noticeable in every gear position.

Everything spins free, fluid was clear of metal when I changed it 30 hr back. Same time we removed the top cap and inspected thrust bearing and gears, all looked good. It has a drive shower and no heat issues under way.. Currently following "if it ain't broke..."

Also looking for set of custom gears for the lower, is 1.26 now and would like to go down to 1.00 or close [yea I know they never made them] if anyone has an idea.
