Bravo to Alpha swap?

Hey guys, I've got a 90 21' Scarab with a 350 Mag / Alpha 1 Drive.

I found an 88 21' Scarab for sale locally (Cheap) with a blown up 350 Mag / Bravo 1 Drive.

What I'd like to do is buy the 88, swap the Bravo (Plus a few other interior / Hull parts) onto my 90, and then re-sell the 88. I've read about the Alpha to Bravo swap, and I have to assume that the opposite steps (Patching the 2 extra holes) should cover the Bravo to Alpha swap.

Can anyone confirm this? I'd really like to pickup this Bravo drive, but I'd hate to get myself into something that I can't re-sell.

Thanks
-Rob

you will need to swap the cutout plate and shift cable too. I think (90% sure) the alpha transom plate will seal off so you shouldnt need to plug anything.

I think the Alpha GenII is the same as the Bravo inner plate not the GenI.

just swap it all, Gimbal housing and inner plate, all the alpha stuff for the bravo stuff, you don't need to do anything but add a couple of holes to the boat getting the bravo. the shift cable's will stay with the transom assy.
Just make sure you get the bravo coupler off the other engine and the sea water pump and mercathode sys. if you need it.

swap

It's a easy swap.Take it out of one and put it on the other .Transom holes are the same you will have to drill the two top holes out for the bravo, and yes get the other coupler and you will also need the bellhousing(bravo has a bigger dia hole to fit the bravo coupler) big or small block all the belhousings are the same.JOHN SR
