HELP PLEASE!!!!! bravo u joint assembly
 

I have a bravo one outdrive and i just replaced both u joints. I've been trying to get this back together for a while now and finally got some time to do it. I took the whole u joint assembly and put it in a vise and now after replacing both u joints the second u joint which is on the smaller yoke doesn't turn completely because the cap of the u joint hits the center piece of the u joint assembly. I have taken this u joint out twice now and it still does the exact same thing when I put it back in. They are both new joints. What am I doing wron or is that supposed to be like that? The first picture below is of the cap interfering, the second picture is the other side of the u joint and shows how it turns freely. NEED HELP DESPERATELY!!!

I just took it out again made sure the bearings were all there and they were. everything looks fine. Somebody out there has to know something about this it's so frustrating I don't know what to do next

Is it possible that it never does go to that extreme of an angle? Try holding it at the angle it would be at when in the full up trailer position and see if it hits . Remember the other u-joint wii also be making up half of the angle also. If needed put the old one back in and see if it cleared. Pull the other one in to the same position as the one is that's hitting. Looks as if the 2 shafts would create about a 90 degree angle. The drive is never going to be anywhere near a 90 degree angle to the engine. I'm thinking your fine.

picklenjim thats a good point! I don't really know if it does go to that extreme of an angle or not, that's why I was asking just to make sure before I put it back into the housing. I was hoping that somebody who knew a lot about drives would give me some insight as to if I have to worry about that or to not even worry about it.
