question on xr drive servicing
I have done a few searches; are there any good step by step how-to's on outdrive servicing? I am getting tired of paying to have this done all the time, I want to start doing it myself.
Embarassingly enough, I am really looking for a step by step on how to drain and change the gear lube. Why do you have to pump the fluid in from the bottom and not drain it and fill it from the gear lube resorvoir? thanks. |
you can trap air from pouring it from the top , drive will appear full of lube then next thing you know your lube level is low once you drive it

they sell the pump at walmart for around 8- 10$

Amsoil makes a nice pump which works with a gallon container, and pumps alot of fluid. You still need the fitting for the end of the hose though.
