bravo one gear unit

I have a '97 Baja 272 502ci engine running a Bravo One outdrive. Recently a friend pulled back on the gear shift instead of the throttle and I think he may have chipped a gear tooth. The boat has a *slight* vibration when the motor is trimmed all the way down but it is hardly noticeable when the drive is trimmed up. I dont hear any clunking noises. Any ideas as to what the problem might be? Im hoping not the gear set, as it looks like thats about $1500+labor...

check the magnet on drain plug and see if it has chunks of metal

Could be a number of things. Trim doesn't affect gears.... but gimbles and coupler more likely.

I just go the bad news for my 502/Bravo One. I did bust some gears in the upper. 1500 plus labor. Ouch.
