need help on picking right drive !!
 

I have a 1989 31 bullet and it has xr drives I believe that makes them imco uppers and lowers. My drives are way below the hull and i think i might be able to run shorties. I see that imco makes a shorty and there are sportmaster shorties I seen some at 20" and 24". What is the better lower unit to try ? also can i just buy imco shorty cases and use my internals ? Im really not formiliar with drives so any help would be appreciated. thanks

The best thing would be to find out your propshaft depth and then post this question in the Cig section. If the drives are XR's they are Merc drives. If they say Imco, then they are Imco's. New -2 Imco shorty lowers will cost about 8k. I would go with them over Merc Sportsmasters.
