transom plate to raise drive

Does anybody make transom plates to raise drives.my idea is a plate with bravo hole pattern with a outer bolt pattern to bolt back to transom. i would just elongate the hole in the transom and the plate would be large enough to cover the larger hole.I already have a -3 shortie and would like to try going up a other 1-2 inches with no ext box.any input would be great.I hope this makes sense.

You would also have to raise the engine to keep the alignment. Center of gravity & handling will take a hit. Hence all the shorty drives.

Sounds like alot of work and fabrication to raise the drives. My money goes on either shorties or extension boxes. Can you say "Afro Engineering."

Out of curiosity what kind of boat are you working on? To want to go up 5 inches from the manufacture's spec is a lot, to me at least.

I've got 2 Imco extension boxes that are setup to raise the motor and drive 3 inches. Inner plate has the rear motor mounts raised 3 inches higher than the std transom plate. You have to make risers for your front motor mounts and whatever you need to do to your tailpipes, but the installation is straightforward and clean.

Holler if you'd like to buy em.
