Red face how do you remove a bravo drive

When trying to take off a bravo drive do you have to put the shifter in forward.Help please what else do i have to watch out for.

No. When you pull the drive off it will pull it into gear before the jaws let go of the cable. Just remember to unhook the speedo pickup before removing the drive.

Not really. Once you pull the nuts all loose, carefully pull the drive back. As you do the shift cable will pull the lever from the drive and expose the end, lift the little plate on top of the lever and pull the cable free. Then slide the drive the rest of the way out. When you go back on, just make sure the cable drops back into the lever before you push the drive all the way home.

just remember the hidden bolt on bottom of cavitation plate

You guys have it all wrong...fill a cooler full of beer and use the phone number of a couple buddies that have done it before. Once they arrive, in 10 minutes the drive will be off, you will have seen how it's done, then you can BS for 4 hours while you drink all the beer.
(and the best part is you can tell the wife you were working on the boat all afternoon!!!)

i think he is refuring to takeing the drive off the gimble,no need to split the lower from the upper for that

Last time i took mine off i had shifter in forward position, tac@5100, mph 74-76, came off rather easy when i hit a submerged log at cumberland, damn near threw me over the handle bars
