Bravo 1 play
 

I have a Bravo 1 (1997 ) that has about 6 inches of play in either direction. There is no grinding noises or other issues just the play. At higher speeds the boat wants to walk all over the place and at low speeds it feels like i'm back in my old jet twisting the wheel back and forth. I'm thinking gimbel but could it be something else? Thanks for any advice.

sounds like you need to deal with that RIGHT AWAY....imagine running down river and that thing flip-flops all over the place at speed!!

Mine was moving about 2" found that out after doing 68mph back off throttle and took a right hand turn all by it self, just about crapped my self,but called Ron Bender and got her fixed

Thanks guys for the help. I checked out JR Marine and learned a few things. Going in the shop tomorrow.

Rebuilt gimbal ring
 

I also rebuild gimbal rings.Weld,remachine,painted with imron and all new bushings when u get it back for 200.00.I have sold a few on ebay with excellent feedback.I iam also looking for some worn out ones to buy.I will pay 100.00 for them.
