Havn't heard of anybody running one of them, but if you have 7xxx$ laying around, I would put a bravo on it, never worry about it breaking. Just my.02

the only reason i was looking at it was for the raised x, the guy can shorten them up to 5 inches, I was seriously thinking about building one
search triple digits
LOL, when you enter "triple digits" into the search window, you get 324 thread results!
lol I just spent about 45min reading a bunch of them, looks like I may be constructing my own shortie alpha
Keep us posted if you do any cool stuff to your boat. I've got the same year and model boat, and am always interested to see what guys are doing with them.
it wont be till after it gets too cold to do anything out side before I start doing anything, I really need to consult with my father first before I tear into anything since i dont really know alot about the inner workings of the drive but he was a merc mastertech for 20+ years so I think between the two of us we can figure it out
You can put an Alpha ss on it and be 2 3/4 inch shorter with no cutting up your drive, besides 3 1/4 inch may be too short depending on your hull.
alpha ss is 2.5 shorter, but they go for upwards of 2k i can buy a regular alpha for 200 and build my own for under a thousand I was thinking about a 3inch shorter set up, from everything I have seen the xlt's like a high x set up there is evean a baron 19 (same hull) running an arneson drive with great results

The diff in the alpha SS is, the SS has a shorter upper. The lowers are the same, other then the nose cone, some geometry.. Plush they are hard to come by.. If you have the right tools, it is very poss to shorten a stock alpha.. Keep us posted. We have been looking for a SS drive, but people with them are insane on some of there prices.. Good luck.. Or put a bravo, shorty lower, and a box on it, if your drilling it with big HP.. I am putting about 400 through a 100% bone stock alpha on my 202 stinger, with good results. :drink:
