Cobra with a 454
 

Hi guys I was just wondering what everyone thinks about pairing a cobra outdrive with a 454 330HP. I have a '87 scorpion 230 that is going to need to be repowered soon. The 350 in her now is getting a bit tired and I have a fresh 454 in my shop. The cobra was overhauled a year ago from the previous owner and I have the docum. to show that it was, so I don't want to change the outdrive. I have read that it should hold up fine but was wondering if anyone had any experience with it. It is a cobra thru prop exhaust not a king cobra. Thanks

I have a customer that has a 211 liberator with a 468 ford motor build up a bit,,490 hp and 550 ft lbs of torque,,been 10 years of so and still ticking away with no issues..
i say go for it..

I had a 460 ford and a cobra outdrive on a donzi Z26, never had any problems with it, just never hammered it from the hole.

I know of a 24 challenger that has a 454 and cobra package. It came that way right from challenger.
