o-ring lube
 
about to assemble bravo 1 upper & lower housings together. i have a seloc repair manual telling me to coat new o-rings with 3-M adhesive. im a bit skeptical so i am looking for some advice on what is perferred. thanks.

i put some oil on the oring and put it on the ring bore

IMO the two "gaskets" to worry about are the water intake port and the gear oil resorvoir port, I put a small "dab" of bellows adhesive in the ring bore just to hold the gaskets in place and a light coat of gear oil or similar on the mating surface. There is nothing worse then getting the upper and lower together and finding out a gasket has fallen out or not seated correctly....

Also, double check the shift linkage has engaged before tightening everything down....:coolcowboy:

I prefer oil on o-rings. Don't have to worry about the adhesive effecting the o-rings abilty to seal.
