There seems to be a few different lube products available by quicksilver for u joint and gimble brg applications. Opinions appreciated. Thanks.

I use AMSOIL Series 2000 Racing grease for anything that needs to be greased on the boat. There is nothing better PERIOD!

I've had terrible service from the Merc U Joint greases. They are fairly thin, and spin out quickly - like within 20 hours, no grease left in the cross, and noticeable vibration.

I'm sure there are as many opinions for this as there are for oil, but I've always used Lucas Red-n-Tacky on u joints (and everything else). I tried the Merc stuff when I bought my first hi-perf boat, but went right back. The Lucas lasts all season (~50 hours) with plenty still in the cross.

I also run Amsoil 2000 and after 50 hours it still looks like I greased it yesterday. I'm running 600+ hp in a Velocity 28 and I put over 200 miles on it last summer. I pull the drive every spring and check everything, U-joint is still like new after 100 hours.

Lucus OIL red and tacky. Lasts a long time.

Wolfs is what I have always used. Probably the same as the Lucas (looks that way anyhow). Anything that is that stringy has to be good. :D
