dimples on the top of the bell housing bell
I have a question. On the outside of my boat where the outdrive bolts up, there is no dimples on the top of the bell. But on a asembly that I have sitting in my basement it has two dimples on the top of the bell. Does that mean its a hp unit?? Both of them look the same, execpt for those two dimples..I feel really dumb askin this, cause I feel I should already know the anwser..

The indentation on th clamp end on a bravo goes over the bump on the flange on the transom assembly and should snap into place. The indentation on the ring fit end snaps into the bell housing ridge, then the ring goes in to secure it in place..
Not to be a wise azz, but if you are unsure, taking it to a pro to at least have him put the boot in properly would be good. You dont want to have done thru all of that work & expense to only have a leak that could cause damage.. :) Hope it helps.. Jamie / Lakeside :) |
I know what im doing, I just always heard that the two dimples in the top indicated that its a hp unit..but that is a false statement..
