JR marine..gimbal removal..
Have anyone of you done the gimbal, swivel shaft removal like they do at JR marine..where they cut part of the top of the transom assembly to get the swivel shaft out?? If you have..please give me your imput..thanks

Yep, did my port side about 3 weeks ago. No big deal. It is a non structural area that you remove. I didn't buy their kit, made my own cover plate.

I've gone it both ways. With and without the kit. Works great.

You cant just drop the swivel shaft/pin out cause of the nut on the top..

how can you get to the pin..the motor is still in the boat..
