JR marine..gimbal removal..
 
Have anyone of you done the gimbal, swivel shaft removal like they do at JR marine..where they cut part of the top of the transom assembly to get the swivel shaft out?? If you have..please give me your imput..thanks

:eek:why not just pull the helmet/gimbal and drop the bolt out ???

Yep, did my port side about 3 weeks ago. No big deal. It is a non structural area that you remove. I didn't buy their kit, made my own cover plate.

You cant just drop the swivel shaft/pin out cause of the nut on the top..

pulled the nut and the steering arm & dropped the shaft/pin ...aint as bad as ya think dont be skeered :drink:
