Bravo XR Durability

Hey Guys, I have an 05 32 spectre cat with 500 efi's, Imco boxes, XR uppers and Imco -3 shorties. My question is ever since I switched to the -3 from the -2's I get really bad cavitation when trying to get on plain. It will start to plain out at around 2k rpm then the props break loose and you have to turn them to 4k rpm and the boat will slowly start to hook and as it does I pull off the throttles as to try not to damage the drives. My question is is it doing any damage to the drive when they break loose like this.

Thanks,

Phillip

Hope not, since mine does the same thing. As long as you pull back once you start coming on plane, you should be fine. Plus, with 500efis, you shouldnt have any issues with your XR's.

No big deal. My 36 Spectre does the same thing with standard length sportmaster xr.

I was told by Brett at B Blades to bring the boat on plane and then immideatly accelerate and the props will stay hooked-up.

But first you have to get on plane. The slipping starts before it gets on plane. Its no problem once on plane and props hook up. Just control the the throttles and dont let it go over 3500-4000 it takes that much rpm to get it up to hook up. Also sometimes one side will catch before the other and urock the steering wheel to make the other catch. Or if I remember correctly you turn in to the one slipping or just the oppisite. This happens with my 36 Spectre with 36P bravo's and 1.35 gears. Normal routine for me for the last 7 yrs.
