trs dissasabled at gimbel what to replace??

my first time taking an 1984 trs gimbel off the boat. i had water getting in between the drive and gimbel i think because the gimbel bearing is rusty.
another question i have is i have thru hull exhaust inside the engine compartment on the intermediate the silent exhaust is capped off.
what about on the gimbel side is that suppose to be capped off too because its not?
what else should i replace since its off
??

I just ordered 2 Quicksilver bellows off of ebay. $104.95 shipped to my door.

Looking for hinge pin bushings right now. Also replacing my Gimbal bearings while my engines and transmissions are out.
Find the part #'s on this site and type the number into a google or yahoo search for best prices.

Capping off on the inside on the" transom plate" is all that is necessary. No capping off outside. Also you do not need the exhaust tube on the outside either if there is one on it now.

Also a TRS does not have a gimble bearing. It has a transmission tail stock bearing. A gimble bearing is in the gimble assembly like on a Alpha or Bravo.
