I went over there and talked to the owner about getting a closed cooling system for my supercharged engines. They have a nice workshop and they seem to know what they are doing. If you have a big boat, it is not hard to pull in. They have some really big boats there and a huge CAT. They also have good prices on Reman XR drives with IMCO lowers. I think $6500 each, but don't quote me on that. They will be getting my business next time, as I have had some bad experiences with some others in the Seabrook area. Unless you are doing the work yourself, it's all a gamble anyway. Look at the BBB, they had a good rating last time I checked. Next time I pull my motors, I will have them do it. They do work on engines, but I have an engine builder that is awesome and I trust very much, but he is slow.

Trashed my port drive.

Destroyed the entire upper housing and upper and lower gear sets.

Cheaper to buy a new drive rather than rebuild the old one.

F*cKn boats!! I am thinking women actually cost LESS than a boat! :evilb:

Remember...if it f cks, flies or floats, you're supposed to rent it. But I break that rule too...

I have used Victory Marine 5 times over the last 3 years. They have done the annual service for my 525 Fountain and changed lower gear sets in both my XR's. They put in my sea strainers. Each visit the work has been excellent and the interaction courteous. We are TOPPS members and word travels like wildfire around here. I have a 2 hr drive to get there from Lake Conroe and others (Skater, Outerlimits, other Fountains and several Cigs) also drive down from Conroe to use them. There are other shops in my area that I have used satisfactorily but I think Victory is the best.

Terrific! That makes me feel a lot better. Scot was VERY nice and easy to deal with on the phone!

Wish I didn't have to spend the money, but at least I should be ready to party for the holiday weekend and the REST of the summer!

I feel your pain. I picked up a new XR from them about a month ago. Great prices . Very easy to deal with and have already recommended my buddy to them. He's now feeling the pain. :cool-smiley-011:

Anyone deal with them recently? Any other options in the Kemah area?

We have done business with them for the past few years and have had very good luck. They have also stood behind their products with any issues we have had.

Bought a reman 1X from them in September. Great shop and people. Scott loves helping any military guys. I would recommend them in a heart beat.

I took my Donzi with 525s for Preventive Maintenance at Victory Marine. Interestingly I found out They do not know what a “Used Valve” looks like & put a Used Set of Heads on one engine. This led to a complete tear down at Nickens Brothers where a Crack in one of the Victory heads was discovered along with a bad cam shaft. Victory did pay for the rework of the heads, but to add insult to injury, I was charged full list price plus for the cam shaft. What Really concerns me is the engines had 350 hours on them & with the installation of the bad heads by Victory, it probably would have been a catastrophic engine failure (of which would not have been their fault of course). The other issue I had was Victory rebuilt an XR drive & it lasted about ten (10) hours – Lost a complete upper & again was Not Their Problem. Nice folks - Just be very careful with the work they claim to do.
