That statement is entirely incorrect. I could probably have an SCX4 installed in about 2 hours, and only that long because I would have to change out my helmet. Bolting the drive on takes 5 minutes.

With the Arneson bravo conversion kit, and assuming that I didnt need to rework my transom (which i would) because my engine is too high, The skill level necessary to install all new steering, pull the motor and install the bellhousing and transmission, then install everything else, it is not as simple as just bolting on a drive. How many hours would that take?

I am not saying that I wouldnt rather have an arneson, because I would, but the amount of work involved for the arneson vs scx4 is not even close.

took the words right out of my mouth

This is a little of topic but did anybody notice that imco has some new pics of the standard scx on there website. It now looks like it has the same bullet on lower case as the scx-4.

I would like to know about prop size. When you go from a standard type Bravo to the -4 Imco what happens to the prop size? Does it go up? I know the -4 will run #6 props but just interested to know what happens size wise. Also when someone run a -4 on a TS Tiger or a TS Top Gun I would like to hear how it works.

I was running a 36 pitch 6 blade bravos on my scx/sc setup, so i called jeff at herring and he's building me a set of 36 pitch 5 blade #6 props for my scx4s, the diameter on the new props will be 16.5" and the bravo style props were 15.25".
Herring seems to be confident that i will be ok with the same pitch i was using before. If the new props don't work herring will trade them back for a set that will work.:drink:

So Jason, it sounds as if you have them ordered, do you have an ETA from Imco? I'm seriously considering these drives, I just wish there was more information out there, guess that's a problem when they haven't made it to the water yet........

I was told on dec 10th that they would be shipping me my new drives within 3-4 weeks, I'm guessing that ill be seeing them the first week or 2 into january. I strongly believe that these drives will be just as reliable as the original scx uppers were. the gears are the same as the original scx in both the uppers and lowers. Imco did their homework on this drive. Its going to be nice not to have to worry about breaking sc lowers anymore. Im going to be putting over 1175/tq and 1325hp to these drives in a fairly light boat and i will post on this site how they are holding up and how my boat reacted to the change in drives/props.
