bravo drive
anyone know how much horsepower a Bravo drive can handle. I am looking to put about 500 horsepower in a Sunsation Rocket I am rebuilding. Boat is 24 foot long 7 foot beam

Around 400 i believe but alot of guys on this site putting much more than that on a bravo just go easy on the throttle and she might last

Call George at All American Drive Service... he can build them to take some serious abuse and HP!!! (517) 858-1123

Technically less than 500, that is for sure.
Like was said below there are a lot of guys on here with heavy boats and higher HP than that with Bravos that are lasting. Don't hammer on them, and don't leave the water real often and you will most likely be okay. |

I would say it is more about the torque than HP.

The carbed 500HP's, 525SC's, and 600SC's were all mated to regular Bravo drives until the XR's came out.
You should not have any issues with a 500HP/Bravo in a light boat. |
